Now that COVID19 restrictions have been eased and the weather’s bright and sunny again, you must be looking for things to do outside your house in Mississauga. For the last 2 years, we’ve attended several events virtually but now many events have transitioned to be offline.
Here’s a list of some super cool events happening in and around Mississauga in April 2022:
1. The Toronto Biennial of Art – March 26 to June 5
Location: Small Arms Inspection Building
Timing: 10 am to 6 pm
With the aim to make contemporary art accessible to everyone, the Toronto Biennial of Art hosts a 10-week long event every two years in Mississauga. It’s happening now and I highly recommend you to visit at least once. They host several in-person sessions every day along with on-going storytelling sessions.
2. Skate54 – April 6
Location: 2105 Royal Windsor Dr
Timing: 8 pm to 11 pm
Hosted by Mississauga’s favourite roller skating rink, Scooter’s Roller Palace, Skate54 is a 70s themed skate night for adults only. You have to dress like in the 70s and since it’s only 18+, it’s perfect for date night.
3. Revival Iftar – April 10
Location: Sagan Banquet Hall – 7180 Edwards Blvd
Timing: 5 pm to 9.30 pm
Ramadan just started and if you’re looking for a lovely communal gathering to break your fast or want to experience Iftar, you don’t want to miss out on Revival Iftar. This yearly event has a unique theme every year and this year, it is – Awakening Resilience: Rebuilding a Community of Courage and Commitment. Along with the dinner, there will also be a fundraising event.
4. Top Glass Conference – April 20
Location: The International Centre, 6900 Airport Road
Timing: 9 am to 4 pm
Hosted by Glass Canada magazine, Top Glass Conference is all about the commercial glazing industry. It is a great opportunity to network with professionals from the same industry, learn about the latest tech advancements, and earn continuing education credits.
5. Ontario Volleyball Championship – April 21 – May 1
Location: 5600 Rose Cherry Pl
Timing: All Day
Nothing better than supporting young talent! Ontario Volleyball Championship is the largest youth amateur volleyball event in Ontario. It’s a free event and half of it is hosted in Mississauga and remaining in Waterloo. The Mississauga chapter will be hosting 17U Girls, 4v4 Boys and Girls, 6v6 Boys and Girls, and 15U Boys.
6. Earth Days Tree Planting – April 23
Location: 1695 Dundas Street West
Timing: 9.30 am to 12 pm
Hosted by the City of Mississauga, Earth Days Tree Planning is an amazing event that focuses on tree planting and improving the city’s natural reserve. You have to pre-register online and will be sent additional information via email. Dress well for the weather and pack up some snacks and water!
7. The Best of MSO Opera – April 30
Location: Hammerson Hall
Timing: starts at 8 pm
The Mississauga Symphony is back to wow you with some beautiful live performances. This year’s highlight concerts will feature La Traviata, Carmen, and La Boheme.
